Position Summary
The Senior CMS Backend Developer (AEM & ArcXP Specialist) is responsible for supporting the migration from Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to ArcXP, while delivering enhancements across a portfolio of non-video-focused websites. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining CMS-driven web platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business requirements. The successful candidate will be certified in both AEM and ArcXP and will collaborate closely with vendors, system administrators, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the migration from AEM to ArcXP CMS platforms.
Design, develop, test, and deploy CMS-based websites and applications.
Collaborate with vendors and system administration teams to troubleshoot and resolve application and server issues.
Partner with content, product, business, IT, and infrastructure teams to gather and define requirements.
Architect and design scalable solutions aligned with business needs.
Deliver ongoing enhancements, defect fixes, and production support.
Apply best practices and design standards to ensure successful CMS project delivery.
Create detailed specifications and estimates using storyboards, wireframes, and pre-design artifacts.
Develop technical documentation, solution presentations, demos, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
Mentor team members and contribute as a senior member of the development team.
Ensure quick turnaround on enhancements, fixes, and solutions while meeting tight deadlines.
Diagnose and resolve web-related technical issues effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on AEM (Adobe 6.5+) development.
Strong expertise in AEM building blocks:
Templates, components, widgets, bundles
Technologies: HTL (Sightly), Java, JSP, XML, JavaScript, JSON, HTML5
Hands-on experience integrating AEM with external systems and web services.
Proven knowledge of ArcXP Cloud CMS, including:
PageBuilder, Composer, WebSked, Exchange
Technologies: Node.js, AWS, serverless architecture
Experience with:
Docker (build and compose files)
CI/CD tools: GitHub, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale web applications.
Proficiency in responsive design and SPA frameworks such as React and Vue.js.
Strong understanding of:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON
Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with code repositories and version control tools:
Git, Bitbucket, SVN, SourceTree
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Certifications
Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) – AEM Developer
ArcXP Certification or Partnership Accreditation
Dual certification in AEM and ArcXP (required)
