Hiring Range: $56,265-$70,331 - Compensation above this range may be considered for candidates with significant experience or specialized expertise.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Insights & Donor Experience, the Insights & Analytics Specialist translates strategic business questions into structured data solutions, analytical models, and well-defined outputs that support audience segmentation, donor engagement strategies, and testing frameworks for the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF).

The Insights & Analytics Specialist is accountable for designing, building, and maintaining foundational data structures used by the Insights & Donor Experience leadership team to inform insights and organizational decision-making. This position owns the quality and reliability of analytical datasets and provides the technical expertise required to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy, enabling evidence-based decision-making across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analytics & Data Development:

Designs, builds, and maintains data structures, transformation pipelines, and analytical datasets across multiple source systems to support audience segmentation and analysis.

Develops and executes longitudinal cohort analyses and segmentation models across fundraising channels.

Defines cohort structures and analytical frameworks to support donor lifecycle analysis and engagement strategies.

Maintains and enhances analytical assets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and alignment with established governance standards.

Identifies, investigates, and resolves data quality issues and inconsistencies.

Conducts ad hoc analyses in response to emerging risks, data issues, or defined business questions.

Testing Frameworks & Measurement:

Designs and implements testing frameworks (i.e., contact frequency, solicitation cadence, ask strategies, etc.).

Prepares datasets and measurement approaches to support valid and reliable testing.

Ensures consistency and accuracy in test design and execution.

Documentation & Data Governance:

Documents data structures, analytical logic, segmentation rules, and methodologies to support transparency and repeatability.

Maintains clear and consistent documentation of data definitions and assumptions.

Supports ongoing maintenance and improvement of analytical assets and processes.

Education, Experience, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

A minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret datasets, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders and support data-informed decision-making.

Work Conditions

Full-time indeterminate position.

Typically working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week.

Location: Based out of CWF’s Head Office in Ottawa, ON (Kanata), with hybrid flexibility to work-from-home two consecutive days per week OR Remote anywhere in Canada.

Frequent sitting at a computer and use of peripherals.
