Summary of this job:
The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the company’s financial operations, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and strong commercial insight to support a fast‑growing business that provides MNOs and Connectivity leaders with a powerful cloud style SaaS platform delivering unprecedented control and agility for enterprise and IoT applications. The role oversees day‑to‑day finance, statutory compliance (IoM and UK where applicable), financial planning, cash management, and internal controls, while partnering with senior leadership to drive operational and strategic decision‑making.
Key responsibilities – what you will do:
Financial Management & Reporting
Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, KPI dashboards, and board‑level financial reporting.
Ensure accurate revenue recognition for subscriptions licence fees for the use of the Platform, Edge Network, API and Portal, connectivity fees, integration fees and multi‑year contracts in line with relevant accounting standards.
Maintain the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all departments.
Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury, and working capital optimisation.
Compliance, Governance & Audit
Ensure compliance with Isle of Man financial, tax, and regulatory requirements (and all other jurisdictional requirements where applicable).
Oversee UK PAYE and NIC obligations where UK employees or activities exist and all other jurisdictions where employee activities exist.
Manage annual audit processes (when applicable) and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
Maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks.
SaaS & Connectivity Commercial Finance
Support the development of pricing models, margin analysis, and cost‑to‑serve insights for SaaS, Edge, and Core connectivity products.
Support contract reviews, revenue modelling, and commercial negotiations.
Monitor ARR/MRR, churn, customer lifetime value, and other SaaS‑specific metrics.
Partner with technical and operations teams to evaluate capital expenditure, network infrastructure investment, and licensing costs.
Payroll, People & Operational Support
Oversee payroll for Isle of Man, UK, Jersey employees (c.23 staff), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage pension schemes, statutory payments, and employment‑related tax matters.
Systems, Processes & Automation
Lead continuous improvement of finance systems, workflows, and automation—particularly around subscription billing, licence management, and CRM/Business Management systems integrations.
Ensure data integrity across finance, billing, and operational systems.
Champion efficient, scalable processes suitable for a growing technology business.
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Manage and develop a small finance team.
Work closely with the COO, CTO, and product teams to align financial planning with operational and technical roadmaps.
Provide clear, actionable financial insight to support strategic decisions.
Any other duties as may be assigned by Stacuity

Your Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) - Essential
Your Experience and Skills
5+ years’ experience in financial management, ideally within SaaS, telecoms, connectivity, or technology sectors - Essential
Experience with Isle of Man and UK financial reporting, tax, and payroll - Essential
Strong understanding of subscription revenue models, deferred revenue, and multi‑element contracts - Essential
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insight - Essential
Strong systems capability (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) - Essential
Proven ability to build processes, controls, and scalable finance operations - Essential
Experience in mobile connectivity, SaaS business or connectivity environments - Desirable
Experience managing small teams - Desirable
Prior involvement in fundraising, investor reporting, or M&A due diligence - Desirable
Commercially minded with a proactive, problem‑solving approach - Essential
Clear communicator able to engage confidently with Board of Directors and other stakeholders - Essential
