Data (FinOps) Engineer

Work on data pipelines and play a key role in FinOps monitoring within NN! Do you have the motivation and perseverance to apply your Python, Public Cloud and DataBricks expertise in our FinOps environment? If so, we have an exciting challenge for you!

Your Impact as Data (FinOps) Engineer: What are you going to do

You will build, maintain and provide guidance on our FinOps tools build in DataBricks. Together with your FinOps colleagues you will setup dashboards, ensure data quality and coach users how to effectively use these tools within their business units.

Implement new functionalities

Make new data pipelines available for the dashboards

Monitor data quality and integrate your solution into existing platforms

Work as part of a team and acting as a backup for colleagues

Actively discussing desired functionalities with users

The team you’ll join:

You will join the FinOps team of five professionals based in the Netherlands, each with strong technical and functional expertise and a keen interest in the latest developments. You certainly won’t stay in your own bubble: your team operates on the FinOps platform and collaborates closely with other engineers, allowing for strong knowledge sharing.

Who You Are:

You communicate clearly and effectively, making it easy to bring people on board and guide users. You understand what others need and can translate that into meaningful insights, making you a key ambassador for the team.

At the same time, you are detail-oriented (down to the cent when needed). You enjoy diving into data, exploring patterns, and uncovering insights to understand what is really happening. You are energized by optimizing environments, improving cost efficiency, and continuously enhancing FinOps practices.

You can work independently and take ownership, while also being a strong team player. You proactively ask for help when needed and support your colleagues in return. Communication is essential within the team, and you contribute by sharing insights clearly, aligning colleagues, and motivating others to go the extra mile.

You are curious and possess strong conceptional thinking skills. Naturally, you have:

Passion for IT

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

3+ years of experience in IT

Python does not have secrets for you

Experience with DataBricks

Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps

Knowledge of medallion architecture for data engineering (nice to have)

Knowledge of DataBricks Asset Bundle for CI/CD (nice to have)

DP-203 certification or equivalent (nice to have)

Knowledge of Infrastructure and Cloud (nice to have)

Knowledge of Terraform (IaC) (nice to have)

Fluent in English, as you will work in an international environment
