ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Storman development team, modernise our platform, and drive our next phase of growth, with a strong customer and commercial focus.
This is a unique opportunity for a player-coach leader who enjoys leading people, shaping strategy, and staying close enough to the technology to solve meaningful challenges while contributing to customer outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership & Strategy
Set clear technical direction and inspire the engineering team
Shape engineering strategy aligned to product and business goals
Champion modern tools, practices, and ways of working
Contribute to roadmap planning and platform evolution
Technical & Delivery
Lead development of Storman’s SaaS web platform
Stay hands-on with architecture, key initiatives, and problem-solving
Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable
Drive engineering standards, code quality, and documentation
Guide best practices across AWS, APIs, and databases
People Leadership
Mentor, coach, and grow a high-performing team
Lead Agile rituals and delivery cycles
Balance strategic leadership with hands-on contribution
Foster a strong, accountable engineering culture
Stakeholder & Strategic Customer Engagement
Act as a senior technical advisor supporting strategic customer engagements
Contribute to customer conversations that shape solutions and influence product direction
Translate technical concepts into clear business value and customer outcomes
Partner with Product and Customer teams to proactively support customer success and key initiatives
Provide leadership during complex discussions, workshops, and escalations
SALARY
The salary range for this role is $190, 000 – 220, 000
ABOUT YOU
You’re a proven engineering leader who balances hands-on technical depth with strong leadership capability. You operate effectively in Agile environments, collaborate across Product and Infrastructure, and contribute confidently to strategic customer conversations.
You bring a strong customer and commercial mindset, with the ability to deliver outcomes that align technical excellence with real business value. Experience supporting transformation or migration initiatives will be highly valuable as we continue our transition to AWS.
You will also bring:
Proven experience leading engineering teams
Background in SaaS / product-led environments
5+ years with Laravel or similar PHP frameworks
Strong AWS / cloud expertise
Solid MySQL and SQL optimisation skills
Experience with APIs and modern frontend frameworks (React or Vue)
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to contribute effectively to strategic customer discussions
Nice to Have
Experience with migrations or re-platforming initiatives
CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code
Multi-tenant SaaS architecture
Exposure to payments or financial integrations
