As senior Product Manager, Messaging & APIs for the Sinch Engage application, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing the core messaging and API experience – for both direct and internal customers. This platform supports 20,000 plus customers, handling billions of events and up to 600 million outbound messages a month.
In this role, you will work closely with a talented group of engineers, as well as leadership, stakeholders across the business, and customers, to define and deliver to objectives, including:
API product strategy: Drive growth in API usage – transitioning customers to new APIs for rich messaging channels, optimizing our APIs for AI consumption, as well as managing the lifecycle of older APIs
Developer Experience (DX) & Agent Experience (AX): Champion the customer experience regarding the discovery and adoption of our APIs. For both developers and AI agents. Ensure clear documentation and rapid integration paths.
Message visibility: Understand customer messaging use cases and ensure optimal visibility of message delivery.
Routing & compliance: own connectivity and business logic, optimizing complex routing rules while ensuring compliance.
Integration: partner across Sinch to understand opportunities for integration – to capabilities and optimize resources.
To do the above, you will need to:
Build a deep understanding of the mobile messaging business (SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp) – customer use cases, APIs, message and channel types, delivery states, compliance requirements and routing logic.
Analyse customer data, API usage, platform/system characteristics, brands, and features to become the SME for this area – building a deep knowledge of how customers use our APIs, and so understand the impact of changes, and ensure we maintain a great customer experience
Use data and metrics to inform decision making, understand impacts and assess performance
Partner and learn from stakeholders across the business
All the while, working with engineering to ensure the messaging platform continues to operate in a way that is highly available, high performance and fully compliant.

Proven product management experience – with demonstrated business outcomes
Strong technical product expertise – proven experience managing technical products or platforms. Including one or more of:
- High volume RESTful APIs
- Cloud-based SaaS
- Platform architecture & integration patterns
- Messaging/CPaaS (SMPP, SMSC, MM7 etc)
- High throughput message queuing systems
Commercially aware - able to connect customer needs, business goals, and engineering realities into practical product outcomes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
Able to build strong relationships across the business, managing expectations while driving initiatives through influence
Experience owning and delivering on complex, cross-functional initiatives
Solid data analysis skills – able to source, analyse and use data to inform decision making – including both technical and commercial
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
Adaptability - comfortable operating at both a strategic and detailed (operational) level when necessary and able to explain complex concepts in terms of business impact
Education: Bachelors or higher degree in Engineering, Business, Technology or related field
