This position has a term length of one year plus one day from the date of hire.

Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Reporting to the Student Recruitment Service Partner, this Student Recruiter role uniquely supports both general Transfer Recruitment and the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (NAS), and the College of Health Sciences (CHS). Positioned between a centralized transfer portfolio and two college-specific recruitment teams, the role balances broad institutional priorities with the unique needs of NAS and CHS faculties and programs.

This dynamic and student-centered position supports prospective transfer students as they explore pathways to the University of Alberta, while contributing to recruitment strategy, partnership development, and the overall prospective student experience across a variety of initiatives and recruitment channels.

The hours of work for this position will be varied, including a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends. This position requires overtime, travel within the Edmonton & surrounding area, as well as possible travel within Alberta/Canada.

The Office of the Registrar (RO) plays a key role in every aspect of the student experience, from recruitment to graduation and beyond. The RO also supports the broader campus community, including faculties, departments, and other units.

Deliver engaging recruitment presentations, booth interactions, advising sessions, and outreach activities to prospective students, parents/supporters, post-secondary partners, and other stakeholders in virtual and in-person settings.

Respond to a high volume of emails and provide guidance on admissions, transfer pathways, scholarships, student services, and the application process.

Support the full recruitment cycle through applicant engagement, conversion, and yield initiatives that promote the value of the U of A experience.

Plan, coordinate, and execute recruitment events and programs, including Open House, information sessions, workshops, and faculty-specific initiatives.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculties, post-secondary institutions, advisors, and campus partners to support strategic recruitment priorities.

Evaluate recruitment activities, identify trends and opportunities, and contribute ideas and resources to enhance recruitment effectiveness and student engagement.

Performs other duties as required.

Bachelor’s degree required; University of Alberta degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in an inclusive and culturally aware manner.

Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Experience in student recruitment, advising, student services, event coordination, or other public-facing roles is an asset.

Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license.

Must be able to provide a recent copy of a three-year driver’s abstract with no more than six (6) demerits and/or two (2) moving violations within the last two years.
