Position Summary:
We’re looking for someone with a passion for Operations Leadership for a position in our Vancouver Flight Kitchen. If you have strong leadership skills and assembly / production experience this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level. You will be leading people and process in our food and tray assembly department. As we’re a 24hr/day, 7 days per week operation, you must be able to work various shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan daily labour according to production requirements and productivity targets
Assign work and follow up throughout your shift to ensure your teams achieving the plan
Ensure everything your teams produce meet your internal and external customers’ requirements (Quality) and are delivered on time
Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures
Proactively seek opportunities to improve upon safety, quality and productivity
Play an active role in minimizing material usage
Work independently and with your peers to resolve problems in the supply chain
Responsible for training, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.
Various administrative tasks including creation / review of material requisitions, production sheets, food safety documentation, shift reports etc.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing or logistics operation preferred
Experience leading in a unionized environment is a plus, but not required.
Skills:
Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 40+ hourly employees.
Strong communicator both verbally and in writing
Ability to prioritize
Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees daily
Excellent time management skills required.
Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
