Role – Credit Analyst II:

The successful candidate will be responsible for making credit decisions within his or her authorized credit limit, as well as well preparing detailed credit analysis including recommendations on transactions exceeding the Analyst's credit limit for decisions to be made at higher authority levels. Constantly striving for efficiencies and assisting risk management within the portfolio is also a key component of this role.

Key Performance Objectives:

An integral part of the lease origination process. Responsible for performing underwriting analysis of Borrower’s character, creditworthiness and financial condition.

Provide direction and leadership on transactions to origination and sales support members, on structure, terms, conditions security and covenant recommendations.

Conduct research, financial and statistical analysis to determine and support the clients' creditworthiness while minimizing risk exposure. Provide recommendations or justification for the credit decision.

With a strong understanding of cash flow reports, financial ratios, trends, etc., successfully spread and analyze business financial statements and/or tax returns.

Sound knowledge of credit scores reported on commercial credit bureaus and consumer credit bureaus.

Ensure compliance with corporate credit policies and procedures.

Interact with senior leadership team.

Proactively identify areas requiring process improvements and take ownership for proposing creative solutions.

Perform vendor reviews.

Conduct analyses to determine causes and cures for delinquency.

Understand market changes and remain relevant knowledge of industry issues.

Completes ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Business Credit underwriting and risk management in a financial services environment, combined with relevant post-secondary education with an emphasis on business and finance.

Strong understanding of commercial business structures. Familiarity with acceptable financing options and techniques.

Sound knowledge and understanding of business financial statements, business case, cash flow analysis, commercial lending security documentation, including collection/work out techniques and remedies.

Excellent credit writing skills. Demonstrates innovative and creative approaches to solving difficult challenges and seizing opportunities.

Proven ability to identify and quantify subtle business risks and the ability to identify key drivers of risk and focus discussions accordingly.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment. Works well in a team environment.

Able to prioritize and plan workload, and to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Self-motivated.
