As a Supply Management Professional, you'll be responsible for managing and negotiating supply chain contracts within the energy sector, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and legal teams to define sourcing strategies, optimize contract terms, mitigate risks, and drive cost efficiencies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to operations across Canada while developing your expertise in energy contract management.

Job location: Calgary, Alberta

Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts (Monday – Friday)

Key Accountabilities:

Lead and support strategic sourcing, negotiation and execution of contracts for Conventional Operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk management practices and compliance with terms, conditions, and service level agreements, through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Manage supplier and contractor relationships to drive performance, ensure contract compliance, and implement amendments, renewals or terminations that enhance value, mitigate risks and optimize supply chain efficiency

Demonstrate exceptional time management and relationship building skills, working within tight timelines, tracking action items, and keeping internal stakeholders informed throughout the sourcing and contracting lifecycle

Conduct market research, analyze supplier capabilities and spend data and perform risk assessments, generate insights, identify cost saving opportunities, support informed procurement decisions, and safeguard the organization’s interests

Support continuous improvement and change initiatives by analyzing market trends, adapting sourcing strategies and contributing to innovative enhancements in supply chain processes

Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and Canadian contract law in all supply management activities

What You Bring to the Role:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field from a recognized university

Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in contracts management, within supply chain for the energy sector or a related industry

Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts, with strong knowledge of contract law and industry regulations applicable to the Canadian energy market

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on risk mitigation and cost optimization

Proficient in contract management software and leveraging AI tools (including Microsoft Copilot and other emerging applications) to streamline workflows, enhance document analysis, and improve process efficiency

Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), are considered an asset
