About the role

We are seeking a Metronome Product Owner to own and evolve our usage-based billing infrastructure following the launch of our Metronome implementation. You will be the internal expert responsible for maintaining the Metronome platform, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our billing and monetization systems, and have a hand in managing integrations across boundary systems, which include Asana Product, Salesforce, Zuora, and DataBricks. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and product — and requires someone who is equally comfortable deep in backend systems as they are collaborating with Finance, Ops, and GTM stakeholders to translate business pricing rules into technical reality.

The FinTech Enterprise Technology team supports, manages and transforms key Finance Applications that give our cross functional teams leverage to achieve their objectives.

This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.

What you’ll achieve

Drive the reliability and operational health of the Metronome platform post-implementation, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and runbooks.

Guarantee the integrity and auditability of billing data through idempotency, event lineage, and reconciliation workflows for Finance and customers.

Develop and evolve API integrations with key boundary systems (Salesforce, Zuora, Asana Product, DataBricks) to support product and commercial model changes.

Manage event ingestion pipelines to ensure reliable, validated, and deduplicated usage data flows into Metronome from upstream systems.

Translate complex business pricing rules (per-unit, tiered, volume, committed use, overages, subscriptions) into accurate Metronome configuration and rating logic.

Partner with Finance and Product to configure and launch new pricing and packaging changes with proper testing and rollback controls.

Provide critical data access by building and maintaining usage dashboards, billing reports, and reconciliation tools for cross-functional teams, and collaborate with Data Engineering to make billing data available downstream in analytics and BI systems.

About you

5+ years in a technical role working with added experience in payments, billing, or monetization, and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Metronome.

Direct experience leading a major system implementation or rollout.

Strong experience with billing, payments, monetization, or usage-metering systems, either in a dedicated billing platform (Metronome, Zuora preferred) or in-house.

Proven ability to integrate with external SaaS systems (CRM, ERP, payment processors, data warehouses) via REST and webhook-based APIs.

Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and GTM teams, translating business requirements into reliable technical systems.

Familiarity with usage-based and consumption billing models and the commercial nuances they introduce (proration, overages etc.).

Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail, while being adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Exhibit exceptional communication capabilities for working with diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
