We are hiring a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Reporting, an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, risk, and data within Basel Capital Reporting. This role offers a unique lens on the balance sheet, focusing on regulatory capital and risk reporting rather than traditional IFRS financial reporting. You will play a key role in producing high-visibility, high-sensitivity reports submitted to OSFI, contributing to public disclosures, regulatory supplementary packages, and financial statement notes. The position is deeply involved in monthly production cycles, with increased intensity mid-month and during quarter-end when collaboration ramps up across teams. You will work with large data sets, reconciling outputs back to the GL, and analyzing secured, unsecured, and guaranteed exposures to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Our ideal candidate has strong analytical and technical capabilities, particularly in SQL, Excel (pivots, formulas, macros), and data mining, with a business mindset and curiosity to continuously improve processes. Candidates from financial institutions or accounting firms with regulatory or capital reporting exposure are a strong fit, though a CPA is considered an asset rather than a requirement. This role offers broad exposure across Capital Markets, P&C, Wealth Management, and Risk teams, providing excellent visibility, stakeholder engagement, and growth opportunities. Supports the execution of accurate and efficient cyclical reporting processes for regulatory and management information and note disclosure in financial statements to internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Works across BMO to deliver specific project/program results in alignment with overall group goals. Supports an efficient and effective Accounting function which uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, increases service level performance and minimizes risk.
Provides input to reporting policy and procedures.
Provides specialized support to investigate and resolve complex issues as escalated by the end-users or assigned by management.
Participates in initiatives as a subject matter expert for an aspect(s) of regulatory reporting systems or business process as may be assigned by the manager.
Participates in the design and implementation of the changes to the regulatory reporting related business processes including performing UAT.
Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards for regulators and executive level reviews.
Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
Participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
Supports the production of monthly management reports, quarterly regulatory submissions and disclosures.
Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for monthly, quarterly and annual processes for regulatory capital reporting.
Analyses data and information to provide regulatory reporting and related risk insights and recommendations.
Supports the interpretation and definition of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements e.g. regulatory capital reporting.
Works with diverse stakeholders enterprise wide including business finance, risk, capital management and other corporate and business areas.
Ensures strong governance and effective controls across regulatory capital reporting activities and information in accordance with enterprise standards.
Provides attestation to the validity of regulatory capital reporting results and highlight significant information including variances, trends, opportunities and exposures to their Manager.
Provides information and support the process for internal (Corporate and SOX) and external audits.
Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications:
Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of regulatory reporting and disclosures is an asset.
Advanced knowledge in the use of databases and spreadsheets required.
Strong knowledge of the data query tools (e.g. SQL) is preferred.
Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Salary:
$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
