About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy is seeking a talented individual to join our Toledo Refinery in a Senior Advisor, SCM US Downstream Operations role who will demonstrate procurement expertise and strategies for the site. The incumbent in this position will provide procurement-related services as the single point of contact for all Toledo Refinery turnaround events. The Senior Advisor will be responsible for turnaround agreement lifecycle activities from pre-planning to close-out. The role will also collaborate with members of the US SCM Team to determine when to leverage existing agreements and when standalone agreements are required.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for the creation and management of the Procurement Sourcing Record (PSR) for each individual Turnaround event to ensure timely completeness of all contracting activities

Work with SCM team members located at Refineries in the US and Corporate Offices in Canada, or independently in the development and implementation of the individual contract strategy, including negotiation strategy and tactics

Actively provide advice to the Turnaround Manager/Turnaround Team on all contractual and commercial issues to ensure compliance with the Contract

Source various US Downstream Operations services and materials utilizing Cenovus Sourcing Practice including all required strategy, award and contract documentation

Assembles and reviews relevant RFP documents for scope of work, performance requirements and delivery schedules considering all commercial aspects of Cenovus Energy internal procedures. Reconciliation of the commercial and technical proposal with the RFP requestor

Reviews and negotiates contract terms and conditions in cooperation with Cenovus Energy Legal Counsel, Risk Management, Maintenance, Operations, and Technical Services personnel, as necessary

Conduct post-award administration of contracts

Assist in the resolution of any purchase requisition and purchase order issues/questions raised by our business unit partners

Who you are:

Legally authorized to work in the US

High school diploma or GED equivalent required; a post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification considered an asset

8+ years of experience, including experience in a procurement or closely related work environment required

A background in the oil and gas industry to understand the nature of work within an integrated oil and gas company considered an asset

Experience in turnarounds, major construction projects, and/or refinery operations considered an asset
