About the role
The Product Management team drives Asana’s product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for team productivity and collaboration. We’re helping to define the Work Management category and inventing new ways for teams to work more efficiently together and see the larger purpose behind their work. Our team works directly with Engineering, Design, Experience Research, and Data Science, as well as with Sales, Support, and Marketing to ship great products. You’ll take part in every type of product work here — from strategy to product to process improvements — conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on Asana itself for millions of teams around the world.
As the Product Manager for Agent Context in NYC, you will lead the strategy and execution for the systems that power retrieval and knowledge across Asana’s AI experiences. Your mission is to make search, retrieval, and knowledge extraction comprehensive, reliable, and useful at scale, helping Asana become the coordination and memory layer for the agentic enterprise. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can turn technical complexity into seamless customer value and help humans and agents carry work forward effortlessly.
This role is based in our New York City office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.
What you’ll achieve
Define and drive the multi-year roadmap for Agent Context, positioning Asana as the essential "organizational memory" for the agentic enterprise.
Optimize retrieval quality and performance across search and RAG experiences, ensuring AI-driven results are comprehensive, relevant, and trustworthy.
Shape core AI capabilities that enable shared knowledge extraction, allowing humans and AI agents to coordinate work with full context.
Partner on governance and trust, working with cross-functional teams to ensure AI systems are dependable, safe, and enterprise-ready.
Translate complex data into action, using customer pain points and usage metrics to guide high-impact product decisions and roadmap prioritization.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to ship improvements that enhance the speed and utility of core AI experiences.
Communicate strategic vision, aligning stakeholders and leadership on technical tradeoffs and the path toward a more context-aware platform.
About you
5+ years of product management experience, specifically within search, retrieval, AI, or platform-centric products.
Proven ability to define a long-term platform thesis and translate technical constraints (APIs, LLMs, integrations) into a cohesive roadmap.
Experienced in working with engineering teams on complex, ambiguous systems where quality and performance are critical.
Data-oriented with strong product judgment, comfortable using metrics and experimentation to navigate uncertainty.
Exceptional communicator who can articulate technical strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrates fluency in AI tools and emerging technologies, with a desire to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, search quality, or evaluation systems is highly preferred.
Passionate about enterprise software and inventing new workflows for the future of coordination.
