This role is ideal for a hands-on architect who thrives as both a strategic thinker and a technical leader, capable of transforming legacy systems into modern cloud-native architectures. You will own the architectural roadmap for the platform, partner with global engineering teams, and drive the transition from monolithic applications to modular services and microservices using the Azure ecosystem and the .NET stack.This role is the sole architect on the team initially, with the opportunity to grow into a Chief Architect role and build an architecture organization.What You’ll DoLead platform modernization initiatives transitioning legacy monolithic systems into modular monolith and microservices architecturesOwn the architectural strategy and domain decomposition of the platform, defining service boundaries and modernization patternsDesign and evolve multi-tenant SaaS platform architecture using Azure cloud servicesEstablish architecture standards across .NET/C#, Angular, SQL Server, and TypeScript-based systemsArchitect distributed systems including API gateway patterns, event-driven messaging, CQRS, and service orchestrationDesign cloud-native resiliency strategies including circuit breakers, retries, failover, and geo-redundancyDrive performance engineering practices including profiling, load testing, and platform optimizationDefine and maintain architecture documentation, decision records, and platform standardsPartner with DevOps to define CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, infrastructure standards, and IaC patternsLead cloud security architecture, identity management, and compliance best practicesCollaborate closely with global engineering, data, product, and IT teams to guide platform evolutionMentor engineering teams on architecture principles, design patterns, and engineering best practicesEvaluate and integrate emerging technologies including AI/ML and agentic systems into the platform roadmapWhat We’re Looking For10+ years of professional software or platform engineering experience3+ years serving as a dedicated software or platform architectStrong development background in .NET, C#, and ASP.NETFamiliarity with Angular to ensure frontend/backend architecture alignmentDeep hands-on experience with Azure cloud services including App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQLProven experience modernizing legacy architectures into scalable cloud-native platformsStrong understanding of SaaS architecture, multi-tenant systems, and globally distributed user basesHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, telemetry, and automated testing strategiesExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with distributed and global engineering teamsBonus Skills (Nice to Have)Experience with Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Agent Framework, or generative AI systemsArchitectural certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, or C4 ModelExperience with event sourcing, CQRS, distributed transactions, or service meshExposure to semantic technologies or knowledge graphs
